State Bank of India (SBI) Probationary Officer (PO) exam is very important exam in India. Syllabus and pattern is given below.

SBI PO Exam Pattern:

The SBI PO exam consists of three phases:

Preliminary Examination:
⚫ It is an online objective test.
⚫ Questions are asked from English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
⚫ The duration of the exam is usually one hour.
⚫ Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam are not considered for final selection; it serves as a qualifying round.

Main Examination:
⚫ It is also an online objective test, followed by a descriptive test.
⚫ The objective test covers sections such as Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language.
⚫ The descriptive test includes Essay Writing and Letter Writing.
⚫ The marks obtained in both objective and descriptive tests are considered for the final merit list.

Group Exercise and Interview:
⚫ Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination are called for a Group Exercise and Interview.
⚫ The final merit list is prepared based on the candidate's performance in the Main Exam and the Group Exercise/Interview.

Preliminary Examination:
⚫ English Language: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para jumbles, Fill in the blanks, Error Spotting, etc.
⚫ Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Number Series, Data Interpretation, Quadratic Equations, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, etc.
⚫ Reasoning Ability: Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Syllogism, Inequality, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, etc.

Main Examination:
⚫ Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: Coding-Decoding, Machine Input/Output, Data Sufficiency, Logical Reasoning, Computer Knowledge.
⚫ Data Analysis & Interpretation: Tabular and Graphical Interpretation, Caselet, Data Sufficiency, Probability.
⚫ General/Economy/Banking Awareness: Current Affairs, Banking Awareness, Static GK, Financial Awareness.
⚫ English Language: Reading Comprehension, Descriptive Writing, Error Spotting, Para jumbles, Vocabulary.
⚫ Descriptive Test: Essay Writing and Letter Writing.
