The Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) is a nationwide examination conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and for Lectureship (LS) positions in universities and colleges across the country. Syllabus:

The CSIR NET is conducted for five subjects:

⚫ Life Sciences
⚫ Mathematical Sciences
⚫ Physical Sciences

Exam Pattern:
⚫ Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT)
⚫ Duration: 3 hours
⚫ Maximum Marks: 200
⚫ Paper: Single paper with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Question Paper Sections:
⚫ Part A: (General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, and Research Aptitude) - 20 questions, attempt any 15 (2 marks each, total 30 marks)
⚫ Part B: (Subject-specific MCQs) - 50 questions, attempt any 35 (2 marks each, total 70 marks)
⚫ Part C: (Higher-level analytical questions) - 75 questions, attempt any 25 (4 marks each, total 100 marks)

Negative Marking: 25% for each wrong answer
