Chartered Accountancy (CA) Exam


Chartered Accountancy (CA) Exam is very important exam. The CA exams in India are conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and consist of three levels:

1. CA Foundation:
⚫ Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent
⚫ Frequency: Twice a year (May/June and November/December)
⚫ Pattern: Four papers of objective type with 100 marks each (maximum duration 3 hours for each paper)

Syllabus:
⚫ Accounts & Economics
⚫ Business Laws & Business Mathematics
⚫ Business Communication & Logic
⚫ Computer-Based Test (CBT) of Accounting Aptitude

2. CA Intermediate:
⚫ Eligibility: Passed CA Foundation or completed graduation + cleared CPT (entrance test discontinued from May 2022)
⚫ Frequency: Once a year (December)
⚫ Pattern: Eight papers of subjective type with 100 marks each (maximum duration 3 hours for each paper)
⚫ Syllabus:
Group 1: Accounting, Auditing & Reporting
Group 2: Corporate & Strategic Law, Business Management & Ethics
Group 3: Cost & Management Accounting, Tax (Direct & Indirect)

3. CA Final:
⚫ Eligibility: Passed CA Intermediate + 3 years of practical training under a Chartered Accountant
⚫ Frequency: Twice a year (May/June and November/December)
⚫ Pattern: Seven papers of subjective type with 100 marks each (maximum duration 3 hours for each paper)
⚫ Syllabus:
Paper 1: Professional Ethics & Values
Paper 2: Strategic Corporate Reporting
Paper 3: Advanced Auditing & Professional Ethics (including IT Audit)
Paper 4: Risk Management & Financial Services
Paper 5: Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation
Paper 6: Indirect Tax Laws
Paper 7: Elective (Financial Management, Capital Markets & Valuation, Advanced IT & Data Analytics)
